is that the "traz" .. i always wanted to visit but never wanted to stay.. i like those colors, sick green walls, tan chiped floors, and that orange light that looks like it would only illuminate a foot of space around it.. was there manipulation with colors or brightness in areas. there is an oddness that i cannot put my finger on.

and it is altered... but only in the traditional darkroom sense... some adjustment to color, density and contrast... and some dodging and burning...

as for the oddness... i'm not sure... there are two sources of light... and thus a color temperature difference to similar surfaces in the image... it is not huge, but it gives a slight tension... that and the wide angle lens has bent the lines a bit... such that it is just a bit off 'normal'... but for me, it is the figure(s) in the background... that was one of the things i specifically altered (dodging to lighten the walls)...

hey!... did you know that you can camp out over night at alcatraz?... their is a long waiting list (years)... i was thinking about putting our name on it in a couple years... and taking the kids...

in any event, next time you're up we should go... it is one of the few sites that lives up to its billing...
